Profile & Preferences
The Profile tab covers who the patient is, how to reach them, which clinics they are connected to, and how those clinics may contact them.
Identity
Name, email and avatar come from the patient’s own Medbot account. Changing them is an account-level change, not a clinic one.
Contact details and address
Contact details and home address are read live from the clinic’s chart and can be updated from here. Because the portal reads a patient’s own verified account details rather than re-verifying by code each time, changing an email or phone number is a matter of keeping the Medbot account’s verified contacts current.
Connected clinics
The per-clinic list — its status, the consent card for a link still awaiting confirmation, “stop syncing” for an active one, and “connect another clinic”. This has its own page: Connected Clinics.
People who can access your record
The People who can access your record card lists every caregiver who can use the portal for the patient — family members or carers with their own Medbot accounts — and any invites still waiting to be accepted. From here the patient can Add a caregiver, switch someone between read-only and Allow changes, or Remove them, including caregivers the clinic added.
A patient who is themselves a caregiver also sees People you care for: “Records you can see because someone gave you access.” Each entry has View their record and Stop.
Both cards are covered in Caregivers & Family Access.
How the clinic may contact you
One toggle per channel — Email, SMS, WhatsApp — answering a single question: may the clinic reach the patient this way for routine notifications?
“Routine” here means exactly two things: appointment reminders and delivery of the patient’s own documents. The portal’s copy is deliberate about the limit — clinical details are never sent by SMS.
The clinic’s own consent model is wider than this (clinical updates, recalls, health promotion are separate purposes staff manage from the CMS’s full consent matrix). The portal’s toggles own only the two routine purposes above and leave every other grant untouched, so flipping a channel off in the portal does not silently withdraw a consent staff set for something else.
When a caregiver is viewing
A caregiver acting for the patient sees the patient’s details here, but the connected-clinics and caregiver cards are replaced by a single Clinics and caregivers card: only the patient can connect clinics or choose who can see their record. A caregiver who can make changes can update the patient’s address; everything else on this screen is the patient’s alone.
